Peachy Sweater - Adult (english)

Peachy Sweater Adult is an airy oversize knit with a folded neckline and balloon arms. You start by casting on sts for your rib knit edge, and when you are done knitting it, you are going to fold it down and knit it together. This means that there is no construction involved. The sweater is knit from the top down and is therefore knitted as one piece, with increases on each side of your raglan-sts. This model has beautiful, decorative holes around the increases, created with a specific technique that will be described below. When you have completed all the increases, the sleeve sts are placed on hold while you knit the body, before you proceed by placing the sleeve sts back on your circular needle and complete them separately. You can opt for stripes at the end of the sleeves by adding a second colour. Choosing a strand with added glitter or a strand of mohair will create a beautiful effect. I’ve chosen to knit 3 stripes using Paia glitter yarn from Filcolana. You add more stripes, or less, or leave them out altogether.

Chest measurements:

Recommended knitting needles:
Circular needle 5 mm and 8 mm

Tension:
12 sts & 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm using st sts on a 8 mm needle with the 3 strands held together

80% SW Merinould & 20% Nylon // 210 m = 50 g

If you want to include stripes on your sleeves, you are simply going to replace 1 strand (or more) with a different colour or material. In the original, I have replaced 1 strand mohair with 1 strand Paia glitter. But this is a great place to use left over yarn from other projects, because the stripes don’t require much.
